Principal’s Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am so very grateful for the opportunity to lead and represent School of the Future Brooklyn Middle School! I am a firm believer that a successful school is one that supports the whole child - socially, emotionally and academically. It is always a joy to see students progress through their growth from middle school onward through high school, college and beyond.

Our motto, “All Students Can Learn”, embodies our school community as a whole, as SOFBK is made up of a diverse group of individuals from a variety of backgrounds who strive for excellence TOGETHER.  SOFBK is a school that is deeply rooted in tradition, yet we are always looking to the horizon as we prepare for the future.  We are ALL committed to creating and maintaining an environment that is conducive to student learning, and one that empowers our students, our staff, our parents, and our community.  It is only through a strong, shared commitment between parents, students, teachers, support staff, and administrators that our students can flourish and receive the quality education necessary for success in today’s society.  Together, we will create an environment that will allow our students to be nurtured, to grow, and to reach high levels of academic success.  Together, we will foster a building culture that celebrates the hard work of our staff members and our students while emphasizing the importance of self-care and mindfulness.  Together, WE WILL WIN!

Our school community is one of strength and resilience, and we will walk alongside one another throughout this journey.  We are here for you and we will do this TOGETHER. As a member of your school community, I am excited to support each family in preparing our students at SOFBK for success. Please remember that you are your child's first teacher. The most successful schools are those with the most active and supportive parents. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

All the best,

Zetelia Valmon
